UK Implements 35% Import Tariff on Fish From Russia, Belarus
The UK has officially imposed a 35% import tariff on fish from Russia and Belarus.
As SeafoodNews previously reported, in March the UK government announced a ban on exports of high-end luxury goods to Russia, as well as new import tariffs on key Russian products in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Whitefish was among those listed to face an additional tariff increase of 35%, but by early April the government said that they were going to review how the tariff might impact the UK seafood sector before implementing
